What is a Microschool?

A Microschool is a is a small school with 5-10 students, created to meet the specific and unique needs of a group of students. You can learn more about the SailAway Microschool model here.

Where are you located?

SailAway’s 2020 Microschool meets at our home location at 106 Armour Rd, Kingston, TN 37763.

SailAway is exploring options in the West Knoxville area for future Microschools.

What if I realize my child’s current school isn’t working. Can I enroll at any time?

Of course! We welcome applications at any time of the school year.

What about COVID-19?

We take the safety of your child seriously, and also understand that children can’t wear masks all day. Our Microschool is a small, controlled environment which is sanitized daily. We will take appropriate steps to make sure your child stays healthy.

What is tuition?

The tuition for SailAway’s 2021 Microschool is $15,000 per student. We offer 10-month or 12-month tuition plans.

Do you have a waitlist?

Once the Microschool’s ten spots are filled, we create a waitlist for qualified applicants, based on their admissions assessments.

I would like to know how my child learns, but I’m not sure I can afford your tuition. Do you offer assessments without enrollment?

Yes! We love to help families to know their students better, even if they do not enroll with us. SailAway’s full service assessment center serves families in public, private, and home schools.

What are the grades for your Microschool this year?

Our 2021 Microschool is built to serve middle and high school students.

What is a blended model?

A blended model combines online and in-person instruction. Students will meet in person a few days a week and also have digital classes together.

What if my child isn’t a good fit for this year’s model?

Our admissions process ensures that every child who applies discovers their academic strengths and weaknesses before admission. If your child is not a good fit for this year, our educational psychologist, Dr. Brenda Murphy, will make expert recommendations for you.
